Achint Kumar is the founder of Socratic Academy, a research-driven education platform. He earned his PhD in Physics from Duke University, where his research connected deep generative modeling, information theory, and computational neuroscience.
His doctoral work included a multimodal identifiable variational autoencoder, a mathematical model for olfactory memory, and a VAE-based analysis with maximum mean discrepancy to study ultrasonic vocalizations in hearing and deaf mice. He received undergraduate degrees in Physics and Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS Pilani in 2017.
